Emma Cleanthi.

Hi. I’m Emma and together with my Husband and daughters, we run Crossways. Here is how we ended up in our dream jobs!  My daughter Molly was working in the kennels and hydrotherapy centre and was loving it. I was of course totally envious of Molly working with the animals and in such a beautiful setting, I knew I wanted to work here to. Luckily I got a job on reception and settled in quickly. After a while the owners suggested that they were ready to retire, which was the chance we had been waiting for. We decided that we were ready to make a lifechanging decision and take over the business. We moved in with our 4 daughters and have not looked back since, we are loving the opportunity. I have always been passionate about animals and dogs in particular so this is a dream come true for me. The team are key in maintaining our 5 star rating and together with our passion and energy we can only improve. You will often find me in reception and I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies.

Gillian Norman

Hi, I’m Gillian and I started at Crossways in September 2003 working weekends, and when I finished school in 2005 I became full-time. I was part of Crossways whilst the hydrotherapy centre was being developed and completed a City and Guilds level 1 and 2 in Small Animal Hydrotherapy.  The hydrotherapy industry has changed a lot since then, and I have completed further training in line with this, achieving my level 3 ABC award in 2013.I have spent many years caring for several generations of family pets in the kennels, cattery and hydrotherapy pool.

I have 1 cheeky terrier and 3 springer spaniels at home along with rabbits and guinea pigs.  I like to spend lots of time with my dogs doing agility, hoopers, scentwork and trick training.

Suzi Flynn

Hi, my name is Suzi.  I’ve worked at Crossways for 16 years, I started as a weekender in 2003 but have been full time for the last 7 years.  I attended Merrist Wood Agricultural College for 4 years where I completed a National Diploma and Foundation Degree in Animal Management. I’ve been a level 3 qualified Hydrotherapist for 9 years, completing courses in animal first aid, anatomy and physiology.

My days at Crossways are made up of duties in the kennels, cattery and hydrotherapy pool.  I own a collie called Belle and a Golden Retriever called Omlette (silly name to match her silly nature).

Over the years I have owned 6 rescue dogs from different rescue centres such as Battersea dogs home and PNH in Ireland.  I feel very lucky to have this job and love spending my days with the animals and the Crossways team.  I’m currently expecting my first baby who I hope in years to come will be a weekender here too.

Molly Silvester

Hi my name is Molly.  I have been part of the Crossways team since September 2017.  It has always been a passion of mine to work with animals and I was over the moon when I was accepted into the Crossways family.  Recently me and my family moved and we now live in the house on Crossways Farm where we run the kennel, cattery and hydrotherapy centre.

I have 2 cheeky cocker spaniels, a chunky lab, a fat cat and a gorgeous collie cross retriever!  My days are spent busy down in the kennels and cattery.  I’m also a level 3 certificate Hydrotherapist.  I love my job, all the doggies are always so happy to see everyone. I enjoy opportunities to learn more about them and I find the hydrotherapy very rewarding.

Lauren Holmes

Hello, I’m Lauren and I originally started working at Crossways in October 2015, but I left to do voluntary youth work in Lewisham.  I came back to work at Crossways in October 2018 and have since done my level 3 Hydrotherapy course. I spend my day in the kennels, cattery and Hydrotherapy pool.

I always had my heart set on having a Rhodesian Ridgeback but in March 2017 I rescued a Parson’s Russell cross breed named Rafferty, he is my first ever dog and a challenge, but he has become my best companion.  I also have a cat called Pepper who lives at my mum’s house as him and the dog aren’t great friends.  I spend most of my time with my dog exploring new walks.

Sarah Ford

Hello, I’m Sarah and I joined the Crossways team on 8th of September 2006. At first I was helping out on weekends and days off but before long I was asked if I would like to join the team full time, and of course I jumped at the chance of working with all of our clients fur babies!

A few years passed and I really enjoyed the grooming side of things (and the kennels of course) so I have now been grooming since 2012 and love making our client’s dogs look beautiful.

I currently own a Rottweiler called Xena, we took her on at 8 months old; a Patterdale called Jack, we got when he was 6 months old; and last but not least we have a Pomeranian called Dennis, we got him when he was 6 years old.  We had three dogs before these and they all lived to a good age (I do still miss them all).

Helen Bellingham-Curtis

Hi, my name is Helen.  I’ve been at Crossways for 25 years and these days I can usually be found grooming dogs!  I also do general kennel work and my Saturday rotation in the Hydrotherapy Centre.  I enjoy the variety it offers and take great pride and pleasure in my work.

I have 3 dogs of my own; the baby..Ted; the clown..Orla and the boss..Larch.  I grew up with dogs and a menagerie of other animals, so naturally my first job was in kennels when I was 13.  I then worked in a local pet shop before starting here full-time aged 19!

Being around animals has always been my life.  I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else, Crossways is an extended family which is what makes it such a happy environment for our boarders and day visitors alike!

Michelle Mchugh

Hi, I’m Michelle and I started in May 2019. You will generally find me in the Crossways reception either chatting to owners, on the phone or running mini marathons to the kennels and back.  I spend a lot of my time greeting all our customer’s adorable pets when they arrive and seeing the excitement and joy of them reuniting with their families after their stay with us.

Crossways is a dream place to work as it’s not every day you get to cuddle dogs and fuss cats, as well as work with amazing people.

I have a fur baby of my own. Buddy my Rough Collie who hates getting up in the mornings.

Alfie

We have been using Crossways since 2011, for both our rescue spaniels. Our first dog used the hydrotherapy pool for his arthritis which was very beneficial and he also came to stay. We very happily continued to use Crossways when we got Alfie, our energetic spaniel. He comes in regularly for fun swims, grooming and to stay. He loves the girls and is always pleased to see them.

Teddy

Teddy has been going swimming at crossways kennels to loose weight. The staff have been excellent. They inform me after every session on how he has done as I can’t go in due to Covid 19 rules. Teddy loves going, he goes straight in with the lady on reception. What I love most is the pictures of him in the pool I receive that evening via email. Fantastic service. Highly recommended.
