Myself and the team are very excited to reopen Boarding and Grooming safely on the 18th May 2020 and we are looking forward to welcoming your furry friends. Hydrotherapy will follow soon in our phased re-opening.

Of course Staff and Client Safety is paramount in these times so after an indepth risk alaysis we have put together our saftey procedures which we would ask everyone to follow.

COVID 19 Health and Safety procedures to Reopen Boarding and Grooming safely.

To ensure the safety of our team, our guests, patients, and their owners, we request that these actions are observed at all times.

At the moment we will not be allowing any non staff into reception or through the main gates, instead we ask that you follow these rules at all times. They are designed to enable safe operation of our services for the benefit of all our clients.

General Procedures to Reopen safely.

These should be observed at all times

  1. General Procedures
    1. If you or anyone in your household exhibits COVID 19 symptoms please contact us immediately to cancel your appointment. Any payment will be transferred to a future appointment which can be booked once you have completed your isolation.
    2. Each animal will be allocated a time slot to be dropped off. If this slot is missed you will have to wait until the next free time to drop off your animal.
    3. Whenever dropping off please be aware of possible delays, you must look to see if anyone else is dropping off (the drop off area is clearly marked) if so please remain in your vehicle and wait in an orderly queue.
    4. Please call us on 01737 842 054 to let us know you are outside to drop off your pet. Our opening times are unchanged per our website.
    5. Once we know you are here the please secure you dog to the wall using one of our leads and removing your lead or if dropping off a cat place Cat box by the door (these areas will be clearly marked) by owner who then leaves. We will then collect and use our slip leads to bring down to the kennels.
    6. Please leave your Collar on as we will clean this and keep with your animal in case of escape.
    7. The Owner or staff collecting/returning will be wearing PPE.
    8. We will not accept any personal belongings other than collar, medication or specific food.
    9. We supply our own dog treat, please advise us of any dietary requirements as usual.
    10. Please ensure all animals arrive brushed and clean.
    11. All payments need to be made by Bank transfer before your appointment. Our Bank details can be found on your booking confirmation.

     

    Procedures for the kennels and Cattery.

    1. All Dogs will be fully bathed using soap and water to ensure cleanliness immediately on arrival before they are settled into their kennel.
    2. Cats will be sprayed or wiped with a cat friendly disinfectant before settling into their cat pen. Cat boxes will be disinfected.
    3. Towels to be put straight out to wash not reused for anything. Slip lead put in wash.
    4. Sadly, we cannot take any belongings at this time (their own bedding or toys)
    5. We can accept your pet’s own food if on a special diet and medications with clear instructions and in the original packaging.
    6. Before collecting your pet please call when you are outside, and payment has been made by Bank transfer. Bank details will be on your booking confirmation.
    7. A member of staff will bring your pet to the reception door where we will secure to the wall please secure your lead before removing ours. Cat box will be placed by the door. Owners need to accept the risk of collecting a dog (They will be bathed the day before as usual), or we spray dog with the cat spray.
    8. Sadly there will be no viewings at this time.

     

    Grooming Procedures.

    1. All dogs will be bathed on arrival and cats sprayed/wiped with a disinfectant.
    2. One animal in at a time unless they are from the same household.
    3. All tables and equipment will be regularly disinfected and groomers use separate equipment to stop cross contamination. Floors will be mopped after each dog.
    4. Tables at least 2m apart (to allow for movement around.)
    5. Specific Times will be allocated for drop offs and collection to avoid traffic at the reception door, we ask that you keep to these times to ensure everyone’s safety.
    6. Owners can call to discuss if they have any particular concerns about their appointment.

    Hydrotherapy Procedures.

    1. Guidance is offered by our regulators, the Canine Hydrotherapy Association who regulate our activity which we will monitor and adhere to. Once we can re-start rehabilitation activity we will  send out an email to all our clients.
    2. Sadly, at this time we cannot allow any one to attend/watch an appointment with their pet at this time. But we can email/phone you to let you know how the session went.
    3. We will contact all clients by phone to talk though how their pet has been and arrange a return to treatment plan. Do they want to return to treatment with new changes in place? Does your dog still require hydrotherapy, if yes has their pet needed any vet treatment since their last appointment?
    4. If your dog has had treatment and more than three months has elapsed since your last appointment, we will need to contact vet to ensure that hydrotherapy is still suitable.
    5. We can accept new dogs for treatment in accordance with all other rules.
    6. An Initial assessment will be completed by phone a minimum of 24 hours before treatment.
    7. Our terms and conditions need to be accepted by way of a signature 24 hours before treatment. A scanned version or picture is acceptable.
    8. Two Hydrotherapists need to be present at your dog’s appointment, due to lifting/encouragement and if therapist/dog gets into diffi They will be observing social distancing rules at all times.
    9. All dogs will be washed before and after treatment.
    10. We will use a fresh towel for each dog. Owner can put their own drying coats on their pets once the dog has been returned to them.
    11. Please do not leave any treats for their session with your pet we have a selection of our own. Please let us know of any dietary requirements.
    12. Before collecting your pet please call when you are outside, A member of staff will bring your pet to the reception door where we will secure them to the wall. Please secure your lead before removing ours, leaving it on the . Owners need to accept the risk of collecting a dog.
